At Salvà Audiology, we offer all models of hearing aids, both with batteries and rechargeable ones. The hearing aid requires a battery to operate (either a zinc-air battery, specifically designed for hearing aids, or a rechargeable battery).
Currently, rechargeable hearing aids are a growing auditory solution, as they allow hearing aid users not to worry about batteries. This provides the following benefits:
- Batteries have a lifespan of 4 to 5 years
- They are very easy to use; we wear the hearing aids during the day and charge them overnight in their charger to start the day fully charged
- No need to handle the hearing aids to change the battery, which is very useful for individuals with hand mobility difficulties
- Allows partial charging during the day, which is useful when using Bluetooth connectivity systems frequently, as this increases power consumption
- Enables daily use and benefits the environment
Bluetooth connectivity in hearing aids allows us to connect them to a mobile phone and listen to conversations through them without the need to bring the phone close to our ear. This greatly enhances listening in typically challenging situations, as the input is direct and significantly improves the ability to have conversations without difficulties in noisy environments.
This connectivity also allows us to not only hear the phone but also listen to music directly, watch television, use a computer… and even adapt devices that can be connected in complex situations such as conferences or theaters, enhancing the auditory experience qualitatively.
The new technologies implemented in hearing aids allow for greater user control, with the ability to use specific mobile applications for their hearing aids. In these applications, users can, for example, switch between programs. At Salvà Audiology, we can configure different programs in your hearing aids specifically for specific situations where it is necessary. It also allows for more personalized control, allowing you to easily adjust the volume or even emphasize speech in the location of your choice with a simple click. This makes the adaptation even more personalized.
Finally, this connectivity allows for finer and more precise adjustments, including the ability to conduct a video call with you and program your hearing aids remotely. This is very useful when it is not possible to visit the hearing center, and we can be closer to you. At this point, it is essential to emphasize that in order to successfully implement this solution, it is necessary to undergo both audiological evaluation and audio-prosthetic validation tests in person at the center. We perform specific measurement tests for your hearing, ear canal resonance, and adjustment validation that cannot be adequately done remotely.
